"JUST SCREW IT" A Visit With K H #7
Recently, I got a chance to visit with street artist KH #7. She invited me into her humble abode to watch her test out her latest stencil entitled "Just Screw It.". This is a take on the 90's add campaign by Nike that said "Just Do It." encouraging people to stop talking about being physically active, in whatever way they were physically active in the decade that gave us such time consuming things such as the internet,Viagra and Lilith Fair(try finding the outsider in that group...), and put their words into action.
(Threw that last run on sentence in there just in case your plane is flying with out a pilot and needed that mind boggling puzzle pieced together for you. Ha ha!)
This new stencil was inspired by her love for running, which the artist tells me she has recently become addicted to and does everyday.
The test turned into two rad finished pieces in which she used acrylic and spray paint on wood. The hand cut stencil has the famous Nike Swoosh turned to make out the number seven in her name.
Thanks to KH #7 for inviting me over and for a fun night watching you do what you do so well.
Here are a few progress shots from my visit.
